The Dark Side

Starting from Bellinzona, pedal northwards to Arbedo and then descend close to the riverbank. As you enter the heart of the Piano di Magadino, agricultural field mingle with vineyards and the numerous farms and holiday farms are worth a stop to buy some of the products of the land. 

The route then runs along the shores of Lake Maggiore to Gerra Gambarogno, while the return journey is up and down the hill to Artore, the highest point of the route, from where Bellinzona and its castles can once again be admired, before descending towards the centre to enjoy a well-deserved beer in Piazza Collegiata.
